AFI achieves IPAF Rental + Gold status

09 March 2020

The AFI group of companies has achieved IPAF Rental+ Gold Status for their MEWP hire and rental operations. The highest standard in powered access equipment hire.

The IPAF Rental+ accreditation is a standard which was put into place by IPAF to improve the standards within the MEWP rental industry and give confidence to hirers that the rental company complies with stringent Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental standards

IPAF’s revised Rental+ accreditation scheme introduced a grading system; Bronze, Silver and Gold. To achieve Bronze, all minimum legal requirements have to be met and demonstrated, Silver is enhanced, and Gold is best practice. Only those rental companies who hold the accreditation are able to remain an IPAF Rental member. AFI have been audited and certified as complying with the health and safety, quality and environmental standards of the IPAF Rental+ quality mark to the standard of Gold. This demonstrates significant progress in the way in which they work, not only just complying with legal requirements, but also in striving for best practice at every level of the business.

Nick Higgins, AFI Group Chief Operating Officer said:

“By choosing AFI, our customers are choosing a company with the highest standards and best practice in the powered access industry. It’s proof that we have been independently audited and meet rigorous standards of training, equipment inventory and customer satisfaction.”

Achieving the highest accreditation of IPAF Rental+ Gold confirms that customers receive the highest levels of service, that AFI complies to ISO9001:2015 and PAS91:2013 (UK only) standards, that their employees are trained to the required level and that quality equipment will be supplied. It gives customers the knowledge that AFI satisfy most UK tender pre-qualification requirements (SSIP certification), reducing the need to provide a Pre-qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) to multiple suppliers when obtaining construction contracts in the UK. The audit is carried out by an ISO 9001 lead auditor and this accreditation reaffirms AFI’s commitment to setting and raising standards within the industry.
